My Portfolio
Here’s my real-life portfolio. I hope it can inspire some of you to invest on your own.
I will do my best to update this page every 12 weeks or so.
I’m no expert and you can see that some of my stock picks were far from perfect. But on average, a Good Return in the Long Run was still attainable.
Again, guided by the 12-Minute Approach, the core of my holdings is constituted by 12 solid Canadian stocks and also 12 reliable US stocks. With the remaining 12 other stocks in my portfolio, I sometime take the liberty to tackle a bit more risk.
To reduce time spent monitoring and managing my portfolio, I contempt myself within these three 12-stock series. Adequate diversification can still be obtained that way.
My Watch List is also limited to about 12 candidates.
I still try improving my portfolio with only a couple of changes every year as avoiding unnecessary transaction fees is always a priority of mine.
My brokerage accounts are currently with Questrade and i-Trade. I use Cost-Friendly Tools as much as possible and also developed one of my own, the Dip Factor.
I don’t directly manage all my investments as my personal and work-related situation provided me with more tax efficient possibilities. In due time, I’ll eventually be able to transfer all these assets to my DIY accounts. I almost can’t wait!
Also note our pension plans are not included in these figures.
Here’s an overview of the evolution of my portfolio since 2008:

Nice growth in your portfolio values over the years and I'm sure dividend income too. Nice to see some investments in some great Canadian banks. They have been hammered the last year and are really sporting some attractive value and yield. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to following your progress.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind words and for stopping by!
DeleteCanadian banks sure have been big on my radar lately. Their solid structure should prevail in the long run.
