The more we look at it, the more Number 12 appears Magical!

In its original stages, our research revolved more around number 15.
But, as soon as we dug deeper, 12 evidently became the front running candidate.

For one thing, a dozen always fits way better in a box!

More seriously, remarkable Twelve as deep roots throughout History;
it even has some kind of mystical character associated to it.

The Number of Nature

To start, twelve really seems tightly linked and related to Nature.

The 12 months of the year…

The two 12-Hour cycles of each day…
Each hour can even be broken into 5 times 12 minutes…
Each minute into 5 times 12 seconds…

The 12-Hour Clock and the 360 Degree Circle (12 x 30 = 360) are also somewhat related and date way back in mankind’s history…

On average, most humans tend to lose their focus after only 12 minutes…

Every skydiver’s velocity typically stabilizes after 12 seconds…

And so on…

Mathematical Wonder

Twelve’s high number of divisors (1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12) opens up several interesting possibilities.

For instance, it’s relatively easy to work using Base 12 (duodecimal base).
Especially with fractions where

One quarter (1/4) = 0.3
One third (1/3) = 0.4
One half (1/2) = 0.6
Two thirds (2/3) = 0.8
Three quarters (3/4) = 0.9
Adding up (1/6) to (1/4) becomes easy…0.2 + 0.3 = 0.5 or 5/12!

Many facts kind of make 12 a mathematical wonder.

Like the fact that twelve is a super-factorial, being to product of the first three factorials.
This fact translates to this unique equation:

12 = 3 x 4

Twelve is also the sum of three consecutives numbers.
This amounts to another surprising equation:

12 = 3 + 4 + 5

But studying mathematics only scratches the surface concerning twelve’s wonderful story…

Ever-Present Thru History

Can it be explained why number 12 is so present thru our History? No one really knows…

Yet doing a quick search, a ton of historical references to twelve pop up!
Even some of religious and biblical proportions…

Like the 12 sons of Jacob…
The 12 tribes of Israel…
The 12 Apostles…
The 12 Angels of Revelation….

But also…

The 12 Islamic Imams…
The 12 Olympians from Ancient Greek…
The 12 Labors of Hercules…
Age 12 signifying that a girl matures in Orthodox Judaism…
The 12 days of Christmas...
The 12 Zodiac signs…
For centuries, the Chinese people have used 12-Year Cycle for time-reckoning…
Like their 12-Year Animal Cycle Zodiac system…

And so on and on!

Mystery still kind of looms around the fact that twelve always seems just right: Perfect Twelve!

Perfect 12

Twelve is just enough to achieve plenty
But not too much so you’ll be able to keep pace for a long time.

Employing it provides you guidelines on the way to significant but attainable improvement.
